Small Space, Small Budget Vegetable Gardening

Successful gardening does not require long rows of vegetables taking up lots of space. Learn how to be a garden success using less space and money. Small Space, Small Budget Vegetable Gardening will teach you strategies to maximize your yield while gardening in smaller spaces. Some of the techniques we discuss include succession planting, square foot gardening, raised beds, and container gardening. Presented by the Southeast Wisconsin Master Gardeners.

Route 66: America’s Main Street

Take a ride on America’s most famous highway, Route 66. Folk singer and humorist Craig Siemsen will explore the 2,448 miles of songs, stories, legends, and humor of Route 66. Often called Blue Highways, our two lane roads were once the backbone of an emerging country. This event offers a little history and a lot of fun!


Trends in American Quilting

Why did quilting become so popular in America when it languished in Europe? Why were there overwhelming national quilting trends rather than a myriad of regional ones in the history of American quilting? These are questions Dr. Leslie Bellais, retired Curator of Costume & Textiles at the Wisconsin Historical Society, will attempt to answer in her presentation on the history of American quilting from the colonial era to the Bicentennial.
